July 28, 2021 - George Brown Road Closure
A culvert is being replaced on Wednesday morning, July 28. To facilitate this, the GBR will be closed from 8AM until approximately 9:30AM.

July 12, 2021 - Algae Update
An algae test on a water sample recently taken in Gully Lake showed no detectable microcystin (toxin). This lab report has been shared with Nova Scotia Dept of Environment. Nevertheless, they indicate that they will not be lifting their advisory on Sherbrooke & Gully Lakes.

July 8, 2021 - Blue-Green Algae Advisory

NS Environment has issued a Blue-Green algae advisory for Sherbrooke Lake & Gully Lake. Blue-green algae toxins can cause illness or even death in people and pets. July 7, 2021 - Bell Aliant Fibre Coming to Wildor Park?
Bell Aliant is reportedly bringing fibre optic cable into Wildor Park. Some technical project details are available at
voicesandchoices.ca, however no timeline details are available. Rumours persist that it's "coming in September", but Jonathan Meakin, Strategic Initiatives Officer with Chester Municipality, who is closely involved with the expansion, speculated that it would most likely be "sometime in 2022". Stay tuned.

July 3, 2021 - Association Spring Meeting
The Association General Meeting will be July 3rd, 10AM in the sandy area adjacent to the Common Beach. Please register with the Secretary upon arrival. Please provide your own chair and place it at a designated spot, ensuring it is 6 feet from those around you.

June 25, 2021 - NSP Tree Trimming Complete
Nova Scotia Power has completed their tree trimming throughout the park. A small section of Oak Dr., with nesting migratory birds, will be completed in the fall.

June 20, 2021 - Possible Algae Blooms
An algae bloom was reported on the west side of the lake, just north of the narrows. A sample was sent for testing; Results are expected in early July. Algae particles were also reported in the water column on the west side of our point (Meisener's Point).

June 4, 2021 - NSP Power Line Tree Trimming
Nova Scotia Power is finally doing the required tree trimming within the park, that they've ignored for years. They will only be working Monday to Friday. Please do not pass work crews until you are directed to do so.

The garbage compound buildings have been replaced with bins.

May 14, 2021 - Lake Marker Buoys Deployed
Our lake hazard marker buoys have now been deployed. As always, excercise caution and use your own experience, as buoy placements may not be exact or may have shifted.
